5A06 aluminum square tube is a square-section tube extruded from Al-Mg series high-magnesium rust-resistant aluminum alloy (5000 series). The old grade is LF6, conforming to GB/T 3191 standard. It is a non-heat-treatable strengthening alloy, with core components containing 5.8%-6.8% magnesium and 0.5%-0.8% manganese.


Core Parameters and Characteristics

Mechanical Properties: Annealed tensile strength approximately 315 MPa, elongation 15%-20%; after cold work hardening, strength can reach 390 MPa, with good plasticity.

Core Advantages:

Superior Corrosion Resistance: High magnesium content provides excellent resistance to seawater salt spray and atmospheric corrosion, suitable for harsh environments such as marine and chemical plants.

Excellent Welding Performance: Excellent in argon arc welding/gas welding/spot welding, weld strength reaches 90%-95% of the base metal, with good airtightness.

Good Machining Performance: Excellent plasticity in the annealed state, allowing for smooth cutting, bending, stamping, and other processes.

Low Temperature Stability: Does not become brittle in low-temperature environments, suitable for use in extremely cold regions.

Limitations: Cannot be heat-treated for strengthening; strength needs to be increased through cold working; machinability is average in the annealed state, better in the semi-hardened state.
