3003 Aluminum Alloy Sheet

3003 Aluminum Alloy Sheet is a corrosion-resistant aluminum-manganese alloy with good formability, widely used for stamping, sheet metal, and containers. It is available in sheets and coils with thickness from 0.2–200mm and customizable sizes, including common 1220×2440mm. Various tempers such as O, H14, and H24 are supported. Lingchuang offers factory supply with cutting, slitting, and custom processing for bulk procurement.

3003 Aluminum Alloy Sheet is an aluminum-manganese alloy with rust-resistant properties. It cannot be strengthened through heat treatment and requires cold working (e.g., to H12/H14/H18/H24 tempers) to improve its mechanical properties. Its density is approximately 2.72g/cm³, slightly higher than 1-series pure aluminum, and its strength is about 1.5 times that of 1060 aluminum sheet. Its corrosion resistance is close to that of industrial pure aluminum, and it performs well in atmospheric, freshwater, seawater, and weakly acidic/alkaline environments.

Core Chemical Composition

Elements

Content Range (mass fraction)

Function Description:

Aluminum (Al)

Balance (approx. 96.8%~99.0%)

Base metal, providing basic ductility, thermal and electrical conductivity, and corrosion resistance.

Manganese (Mn)

1.0%~1.5%

Core alloying element, significantly improving strength and corrosion resistance without reducing plasticity.

Silicon (Si)

≤0.60%

Controls hot cracking tendency and optimizes weldability.

Iron (Fe)

≤0.70%

Limits brittle phase formation and improves processing stability.

Copper (Cu)

0.05%~0.20%

Slightly increases strength without affecting corrosion resistance.

Zinc (Zn)

≤0.10%

Controls impurities and maintains material purity.

Other Elements

Single ≤0.05%, Total ≤0.15%

Strictly controls impurity content to ensure stable material properties.

How to Choose the Temper of 3003 Aluminum Alloy Sheet?

3003 Aluminum Alloy Sheet is approximately 50% stronger than pure aluminum (1060/1010).

O temper is suitable for deep drawing and complex forming.

H14/H24 are the preferred general-purpose tempers (balanced strength and machinability).

H18 is used for structural components requiring higher rigidity and less deformation.
