Leading Chinese manufacturers offer precision cutting to length, chamfering and punching, CNC precision milling and tapping, and bending forming. T4 and T6 heat treatment are supported for strengthening. 2A12 aluminum square tubes can be anodized and sprayed with anti-corrosion coating, are compatible with special welding processes, and non-standard specifications can be customized. Material testing reports are provided to meet the processing needs of high-strength precision components.
2A12 aluminum square tubes are square-section tubes extruded from Al-Cu-Mg series high-strength hard aluminum (2000 series), formerly designated LY12, with an international approximate designation of 2024, conforming to GB/T 3191 standard. They contain 3.8%-4.9% copper and 1.2%-1.8% magnesium, and can be heat-treated for strengthening. In the T4 condition, the tensile strength is ≥420MPa, demonstrating strong load-bearing capacity.
Core Characteristics
Advantages: High strength, excellent fatigue resistance, stable performance at moderate temperatures (≤150℃)
Limitations: Moderate corrosion resistance, requires anodizing/painting/aluminizing for enhanced protection; prone to intergranular cracking during argon arc welding, good spot weldability
Machining: Moderate plasticity in annealed state, good machinability after quenching
Specifications and Applications
Common cross-sections: 10×10~200×200mm, wall thickness: 1~10mm, length: 6~12m (custom lengths available); Primarily used for high-load aerospace components (aircraft frames, spars, skins), rail transit load-bearing components, and high-end mechanical structural components; suitable for applications with extremely high strength and lightweight requirements.
