Chinese aluminum coil manufacturers recommend: for corrosion resistance, weldability, and marine tank construction, choose 5083; for high strength, high hardness, and precision load-bearing, choose 7075.
5083 aluminum coils are an Al-Mg-Mn series rust-resistant aluminum alloy coil (representative of 5-series aluminum alloys). Its core characteristic is high magnesium content (4.0%-4.9%), supplemented with manganese (0.4%-1.0%), chromium (0.05%-0.25%), and other elements. It cannot be heat-treated for strengthening and is a non-heat-treatable high-strength rust-resistant aluminum.
