409 Stainless Steel Sheet

409 is a ferritic stainless steel plate, with the national standard grade 06Cr11Ti. It is an economical stainless steel plate. It uses chromium as the core alloy, contains no nickel, and adds titanium to stabilize the metallographic structure. Its characteristics include low cost, good high-temperature oxidation resistance, and strong cold stamping ability. However, its overall corrosion resistance is relatively weak, far lower than austenitic stainless steels such as 304 and 316L.

Main Applicable Environments and Applications:

Automotive High-Temperature Exhaust Conditions (Main Application): Automotive exhaust pipes, mufflers, and exhaust ducts, capable of withstanding high temperatures and moisture oxidation from exhaust gases.

Industrial Smoke/Ventilation Environments: Boiler flues, industrial chimneys, and hot air ducts, suitable for medium-temperature flue gas and dry oxidizing atmospheres. Household appliances and general indoor applications: Water heater accessories, oven components, kitchen exhaust equipment, and standard stamped hardware.

Usage limitations: Suitable only for dry, mildly corrosive, and low-chloride ion environments. Not suitable for use in highly corrosive environments such as seawater, acids, alkalis, and chemicals.
